BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU is a grappling art that utilizes throws, positional control, and submissions to neutralize an opponent. The emphasis is on technique as a means to deal with size and power. To achieve superior technique, which is the goal of the Jiu-Jitsu student, one must be focused, disciplined, humble and creative. (History)
In addition to the classes below, We also offer open mat times through the week, which are informal classes where advanced students can exchange ideas and spar.

BASIC CLASS
All new students start with this class where we focus on technique, drilling, and fitness. A class usually consists of extensive warm-up, technique training, and specific training, which is like sparring but very easy going. Typically a student spends 4 months exclusively in this class, but it’s always a good idea to go back to brush up on basics. Your first class is always free.
ADVANCED
Once you have the basics down, this class provides a great transition into slightly more challenging techniques and a longer sparring session: up to 15 minutes. After a student gains a third stripe on the white belt, he or she gains access to this class, which is run simultaneously with the Basic Class.

SPORT JIU JITSU
We’ve decided to split up our next level class into two parts. Sport Jiu-Jitsu will be a technique oriented class focusing on the cutting edge of competitive Jiu-Jitsu, as well as game development and strategy.
BLACK BELT TRAINING
This is an optional sparring session attached to the end of the Sport Jiu-Jitsu Class. Now students have a choice: work mainly on technique, come to get some rolling in…or BOTH, depending on your goals.
